Design EXPERIENCES

Products conveyed have varied from powders, powdered metals, coal, wood chips, to raw materials for the making of steel.  Have worked within a team environment as well as individual projects to fulfill assignments.  From verbal information, conceptual and/or sketches, have designed, detailed and perform start-up of various systems.  Experienced from the initial conceptual system layout to its cold or hot system start-up.  Experienced with medium to heavy-duty industrial belt conveying systems, medium to heavy-duty roller conveyor systems, dilute and dense phase pneumatic conveying systems, storage and batching silos, bins, and hoppers.

Designed layouts for structural supports, towers, bents, hoppers, plate work, sheet metal assemblies, and various fabrications and weldments.  Designed layouts and components for trough, flat, and pocket belt conveyors.  Designed chute work for conveyor systems, bins and hoppers.  Participated in conceptual overall system layouts.  Created system and assembly GAs and design layouts to a project’s final design.  Conducted field measurements and participated with equipment start-up.  (Systems Engineering & Construction Co., Fairfield Engineering Co., and Decker Industries)

Designed “conveyance and dust containment systems” for coal delivery into power plants (Fairfield Engineering, Marion, Ohio).

Designed “alloy/flux conveyance and storage systems” for raw material conveyed into steel mills and “bag house system” to contain dust from the system (Systems Engineering & Construction Co., Nashville, Tennessee and Decker Industries, South Carolina).

Designed “high-speed conveyor derailing system”, “full-case inspection/rejection system”, and improved “vacuum conveyor reject system” for aluminum cans (Contract - Adolph Coors Co., Golden, Colorado).

Designed a centrifuge for rock/oil separation that consisted of intricate plastic machined equipment.  (Contract – Marathon Oil, Colorado)

Served as part of a design team for a “scrap aluminum can handling system,” a “bulk can handling system,” and a “fiberglass conveying/banding/stacking system.”  (Contract - Adolph Coors Co. and Mansfield Corporation – Colorado)

Participated in the design, implementation and debugging of mechanical and pneumatic improvements to existing packaging systems (Contract - Johns Manville, Littleton, Colorado).

Participated within a design team to design a robotic system from concept to detail and assembly of fabricated and machined parts (Contract - B-Ten, Denver, Colorado).

Designed equipment for center-articulated, rubber-tired, underground mining machines used for face drilling, bolting and scaling.  Held responsibility for critical drawings including electrical/hydraulic schematics, details, assemblies, and documentation drawings (Tamrock, Inc., Commerce City, Colorado).
