Work History

(A more specific work history can be provided if requested)

Design of a vertical curve conveyor for power plant coal delivery system.  Rated at 2800 tons per hour on a 60-inch belt at 725 feet per minute. (Stock Fairfield, Marion, Ohio)

Designed layouts for structural supports, towers, bents, hoppers, plate work, sheet metal assemblies, and other fabrications and weldments.  Designed layouts and components for trough, flat, and pocket belt conveyors.  Designed chute work for conveyor systems, bins and hoppers.  Participated in conceptual overall system layouts.  Created system and General Assembly drawings and design layouts to a project’s final design.  Conducted field measurements and participated with equipment start-up. (Varo Engineers, Inc., Marion, Ohio - Systems Engineering & Construction Co., Nashville, Tennessee - Fairfield Engineering Co., Marion, Ohio - Decker Industries, Lake Wylie, South Carolina).

Designed proposal layouts, estimated costing for engineering, design, purchasing, fabrication, delivery, installation, commissioning, and training for proposed systems, and determined preliminary scheduling. (CCC Group, San Antonio, Texas - Air Control Science, Marion, Ohio - Systems Engineering & Construction Co., Nashville, Tennessee)

Designed and participated in design teams to create “conveyance and dust containment systems” for coal delivery into power plants and “automated washdown systems” (Air Control Science, Marion, Ohio and Fairfield Engineering, Marion, Ohio).

Designed “alloy/flux conveyance and storage systems” for raw material conveyed into steel mills and “bag house system” to contain dust from the system (Systems Engineering & Construction Co., Nashville, Tennessee and Decker Industries, Lake Wylie, South Carolina).

Team member in the design of robotic systems from concept to detail and assembly of fabricated and machined parts for automotive air bag deployment systems (B-Ten Systems, Arvada, Colorado).

Designed a centrifuge for rock/oil separation that consisted of intricate machined plastic components. (Marathon Oil, Denver, Colorado).

Participated in the design of numerous “fiberglass conveying/banding/stacking systems.” (Johns Mansfield Corporation, Littleton, Colorado)

Participated in the design, implementation and debugging of mechanical and pneumatic improvements to existing packaging systems.  Designed “high-speed conveyor derailing system”, “full-case inspection/rejection system”, and improved “vacuum conveyor reject system” for aluminum cans, served as part of a design team for a “scrap aluminum can handling system”, “bulk can handling system” and numerous other smaller systems. (Adolph Coors Co., Golden, Colorado).

Designed equipment for center-articulated rubber-tired underground mining machines used for face drilling, bolting and scaling.  Machines were designed for both hard rock and for coal and were designed for both explosive and non-explosive environments.  Held responsibility for critical drawings including electrical/hydraulic schematics, details, assemblies and documentation drawings (Tamrock, Inc., Commerce City, Colorado).
